There are plenty of options to stretch your legs or go on a family driving tour.
Another great option, this time for those that enjoy learning about Pennsylvania history or farming history, is the Colonial Pennsylvania Plantation. This is one of the oldest working farms in PA. On weekends, everyone can take a trip back to colonial times to learn sewing, wood splitting, and play with children’s toys. Sometimes, there are even great workshops. Similarly, The Grange Estate offers a look back in time, but with a focus on gardens.
The Newlin Grist Mill is another historical sight to see in Delaware County. Here, you can watch the water wheel turn the gears at the mill, which is one of the oldest grist mills still in operation. There are plenty of chances to absorb history here while having a great time – there are children’s activities, fishing, crafts, blacksmithing, and so much more.
The Delaware County Veterans Memorial is another great place to visit for those interested in local veterans. It offers a wonderful opportunity to remember and honor those we’ve lost.
